This trade is a sister company to MACS and operates under the common name of GAL (Gulf Africa Line).  With a configuration of 5 multi purpose vessels it operates a Liner service between the U.S.  East Coast/Gulf of Mexico and Southern Africa, specializing in the carriage of bulk, breakbulk, container and project cargoes. MACS (Maritime Carrier Shipping)

MACS has been operating between Europe North West Continent United Kingdom and Southern Africa for more than 25 years.  This Line arguably offers the largest multi purpose type service to and from the respective regions, operating reputable class vessels with a sailing approximately every 7-8 days in each direction.  MACS also carry a significant volume of containerized cargo.

Added to this service will be a dedicated special ro-ro heavy lift vessel, the “Cheyenne”, which will operate in the Southern Africa region, feedering heavy lift and project cargoes from the main ports of CT, Durban and Richards Bay to surrounding destination ports.  MACS is managed out of two head office structures located in Hamburg and CT respectively. Ocean Africa Container Line (OACL)

Although OACL is predominantly a feeder operator, throughout the Southern Africa coast, King & Sons involvement with the line encompasses the commercial services into West Africa (Angola and Namibia) and East Africa (Mocambique and Tanzania), as well as port agency functions in PE & EL. The trades are confined mainly to containerized cargoes. OACL is a joint venture between Grindrod Ltd and Safmarine. Visit site »
